“ Real Faith comes through direct experience of a higher reality or through the company of those who have attained that faith. ”

“ We can't really digest food unless there's hunger. So we can't really assimilate spiritual wisdom unless we feel the need for it. ”

“ Love means sacrifice. Love means service. As long as we have an individual, personal, egoistic desire to enjoy, there is going to be conflict, and then we cannot wholeheartedly love each other. ”

Radhanath Swami was born in Chicago in 1950 as Richard Slavin in a Jewish family, he studied a number of religious paths such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam. At the age of 19, he began traveling through Europe and the Middle-East, aiming for India and eventually settling for over a year in the Himalayas. This journey ultimately led him to India, where he lived for several years, met Srila Prabhupada, and came to reside in Vrindavan. For the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada, Radhanatha Swami moved from Vrindavan to New Vrindavan, where he served for eight years with astounding devotion and austerity.

Radhanath Swami then began college preaching in America, and in 1987, began to assist in the development of preaching projects in India, a service which he is doing to the present day. His dedicated efforts in congregation preaching developed the Sri Sri Radha Gopinath Mandir at Chowpatty, Bombay and the ISKCON Belgaum temple. Under his auspices, preaching programmes are developing in Kolhapur, Nasik, and Nigidi. Each year, Radhanatha Swami takes thousands of devotees on pilgrimage to holy places of the Vaishnava tradition.

Radhanath Swami emerged from his years of travel wanting to explain for others the beauty and rewards of a life devoted to God. He established headquarters at Radha Gopinath Temple in Chowpatty, Mumbai. For the past twenty years he has guided the community development and has initiated a number of acclaimed social action programs including Midday Meals, which feeds more than 175,000 plates of nutritious vegetarian food daily to indigent children; missionary hospitals and eye camps; eco-friendly farms, schools and ashrams; and a number of emergency relief programs, value education, orphanage, cow protection, etc., throughout India.
